CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

Construction of the new 32 km of the D4 motorway continues as planned and work is underway on all sections

  • The topsoil is 95% complete.
  • Currently, subsoil rehabilitation is being carried out and earthworks have also started - the construction of excavations and embankments, during which material is being transported or weighed.
  • The properties of the soil are being modified, mostly with lime to reduce moisture to make them more usable, stable and stronger.
  • At the same time, work is also underway on utility relocations and work is continuing on the construction and subsequent start-up of the packaging and concrete plant in Lety.
  • Archaeologists are also completing their work in the sections Lety - Čimelice and Čimelice - Mirotice.
  • At Milín, preparatory work is underway to remove the rock mass to create a large enough space for the future motorway. The blasting of this massif will start during August and is planned with the utmost consideration for local citizens and drivers. Therefore, a special Scandinavian method will be used which will significantly reduce noise, dust and vibrations.
  • Special rigs for drilling piles for future bridge structures have also been installed along the route. The drilling work is taking place simultaneously on 2 bridges.
  • Work is also continuing on the construction of diversion roads, the first of which should be operational in the second half of August
